temple at asakusa and shopping in ueno
Posted by p.phresh under my life
Today we visited they temple in asakusa. At the first gate to the temple is a long pathway that leads up to the temple. This pathway is famous for being the “market street”.
The path is littered with tons of souvenir shops and food stands.
We walked down the market street to and looked at all the neat stuff being offered. We sampled many of the foods that were available. Including yakitori, and fresh rice crackers!
Once we reached the temple there was a girl dressed as a geisha being photgraphed for a private photography gig. I snuck in a few shots while she was posing for the camera.
(more pictures are in the photo gallery)
After the temple we headed off to Ueno where we decided to stay and shop around.
This district has tons of little shops that sell handbags and shoes! There ate some accessory stores and a also a 6 level toy store!
We shopped around and went for dinner before deciding to head back to the hostel.
